We are consuming our planets resources at an unsustainable rate, with estimates suggesting that our finite supply of carbon based fossil fuels could be depleted within the next 50 years, it's now time we looked to alternatives.

Our homes, offices and factories discharge billions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere every year weakening the protective ozone layer and increasing the rate of global warming.

If we are to leave a legacy could it not be to reduce our carbon rich diet of coal, gas and oil and replace it with energy derived from natural, abundantly available and most importantly sustainable resources?

Acorn Homes in partnership with Renewables Ireland are proud to have been the first house builder in Northern Ireland to offer  renewable technologies as options on all of our new homes. We believe that if these new technologies are to be embraced by consumers within the mass market they must be user friendly, they must integrate seamlessly with the other systems in the home and they must be operated and controlled in a way that is familiar to the user.....in fact once installed, you shouldn't even know they are there!

"NIE is very keen to help and support local people harness natural energy sources using renewable energy technologies. Therefore NIE is delighted to offer financial support to Acorn Home buyers to help them install renewables such as solar water heating, ground source heat pumps or small wind turbines. Acorn Homes is to be congratulated for their foresight in offering new home owners a choice of renewables, making their new homes truly unique."
