Should your circumstances not allow you to buy your new home outright Co-Ownership purchase is a fantastic stepping stone to help you get a foot onto the property ladder. It's a scheme run by the Northern Ireland Co-Ownership Housing association Limited (NICHA) and funded by the department for Social Development. The scheme helps people to own their own homes through equity sharing. This means you buy as much of the property as you can afford initially, with the option of stair casing up to buy the rest of the equity from NICHA at any time in the future. Part-buying and part-renting the property makes the monthly repayments significantly easier to meet, so if you would not normally be able to buy the home you need on a full mortgage the co-ownership route represents a great alternative.
acornhomes have teamed up with the Northern Ireland Co-Ownership Housing Association to help buyers access our multi award winning properties. For more information take a look at the Co-Ownership web site by clicking links on this page or alternatively contact our sales team who will be happy to provide you with a Co-Ownership brochure.
Should you decide to go down the co-ownership route we will be happy to prepare the necessary the paper work.
